April + May

Here are some random pictures from April and May!  We have had a very cool and wet Spring so far!

A rare rainbow over the mountains.  Usually we see them to the East once the storm has passed.

 



My Mom and Dad came for a visit at the end of May.  It rained most of the time.  When we did get out for a walk, Gabi's rain boots weren't much of a help.

I went to Boston for a conference and was fortunate enough to attend a Red Sox game.  It was really fun!

Don plowed, raked, and planted the field closest to our house.  Whenever the tractor was out there, Jacob had to watch him through the window. He said "Tractor! Yeah!"

Jacob's Hospital Stay

 In early April, Jacob started showing signs of illness so we took him to the doctor and she diagnosed him with an ear infection.  By the next day, he had thrown up all he had to drink so was consequently very dehydrated and lethargic.  I took him back to the doctor and she immediately admitted him to the hospital to get an IV of fluids started.  We still weren't sure why he was so sick...they did a chest x-ray and it wasn't pneumonia, they tested for flu and that was negative.  I guess they no longer test for RSV, so we're thinking that is what it probably was.  He was one sick little boy and it all happened so fast!

He was on continuous oxygen most of his stay, but didn't like the mask a whole lot.

 When we first arrived, they tried 14 times to get an IV in and failed. :(  It was horrible.  I stayed up that night and fed him as many syringes of Gatorade as I could get into him.  They gave him some anti-throwup medicine that allowed him to keep it down.  He wasn't a whole lot better the next day so we decided to have the anesthesiologist put an IV in in the OR.  After a couple more tries he was successful so they started pumping him full of fluids.

 With all the fluids pumped in, his face swelled up and he just looked horrible/miserable.  I Facetimed Joe and the girls and was stunned when his picture came up and he looked like this.  He really was feeling a lot better at this point but the swelling doesn't show that.

Jacob went into the hospital on a Wednesday night and came home Saturday morning.  We're thankful for all the love we received from our close friends and family!  He is a tough little guy!

Since the surgery, Jacob has had his adenoids taken out and a new set of ear tubes putt in.  Hopefully this will keep him healthy, happy, and growing this summer!

Spring Break Trip

 

We headed to Colorado for Spring Break...first stop Windsor to visit my Mom & Dad in their new house!!  We are so excited that they moved closer!

 Then, we headed up to Steamboat to meet some friends from college for a few days of skiing in the sunshine!

It was warm enough for swimming after a day of skiing!  The best of both worlds!

They're multiplying!  What fun they had together!

March 2015

Joe & I were fortunate enough to go on a trip to Las Vegas in mid-March for the MWC Basketball tournament.  Wyoming ended up winning the Championship!  We had lots of fun at the games.  We did decide that Las Vegas wasn't quite our scene, but we made the most of it and had a great time!  Thanks go Dave & Joyce for watching our kids while we were gone!  Don't know what we would do without them!

 

Wyoming did go to the NCAA Tournament and we were all decked out in our Wyoming gear when they played.

January - February 2015

Gabi & Maya both played angels in our church's Christmas program

Gabi's piano recital...she played "We Wish You a Merry Christmas!" and did a wonderful job!

The time came for me to finally get glasses...me and my mini-me. ;)

There is nothing Jacob likes to do more than read books...especially with his sisters!

Happy New Year!

 

We went to Laramie to ring in the New Year.  Jacob stayed with Dave & Joyce, which freed us up to enjoy a Wyoming Cowboys basketball game!  The girls loved it and the team this year was so fun to watch!

We stayed with our good friends, Greg & Kristi, and even the girls stayed up past midnight to ring in the New Year!  They had so much fun playing with their daughters!  On New Year's Day, we went skiing at Snowy Range and had a blast!
