August 2021

Fair Time!  The girls showed sheep and pigs this year.  Maya took projects in Fabric & Fashion, Quilting, and Cake Decorating.  Gabi took projects in Woodworking and Foods.  Both girls had lots of fun during Johnson County Fair & Rodeo.

Maya with her "Things I Love" paper pieced wall hanging quilt
Her quilt won Overall Grand Champion at the Wyoming State Fair!! She worked very hard on this, so it was great to see her hard work pay off. It also looks great hanging in her bedroom and will be a fun keepsake for her.

After fair, I took the kids down to Colorado to spend some time with my parents and do some back to school shopping!  We had a fun time!
Jacob has wanted a tank top all summer - he was so pumped to show of his "guns"

The next weekend, we rented a huge cabin near Ashton, ID with some other families.  Even though one of the families couldn't come due to Covid, we had a great time visiting, relaxing, hiking, and floating the river.  It was great to get away and spend time as a family before the craziness of school starts.

Hiking kids - they made the trek down to the bottom of Lower Mesa Falls - beautiful!
A little dip in the river to cool off

A group went golfing one morning
We all enjoyed the huge hot tub!
Fun roasting smores

A favorite activity was rafting the river - we had two big rafts full and played all the way down the river.  Not many pictures since it was so wet due to all of the splashing and shenanigans!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 2021-2022!
Maya is in 7th Grade
Gabi is in 8th Grade
Jacob is in 2nd Grade
It was cold and windy, so they weren't very keen on me taking many pictures!
Jacob on one of our many evening walks.  He's a pretty adventurous boy!

I snuck in this picture of Jacob drinking a smoothie for breakfast in his Sonic costume.
